We had this cheap IKEA table and after seeing a few people on the internet make theirs more interesting to look at I thought I'd give it a go. Not much to lose as the tables are cheap and the pallet timber is free.
I cut the timber on my table saw.
Sanded it.
Glued it.
Took a couple back off after it didn't look right (a bit of a pain).
Glued and nailed an edge for finish, then stained and varnished.
I painted the legs with a grey Matt gloss paint then put the original shelf back.

Log Alpine Succulent Planter
This is a log that was intended to be firewood, I cut, sanded, and drilled a large hole using a large Forstner bit.
Then simply add compost, a touch of water and the plant.
Added bonus is every one is unique.
Its quite simple but very effective

Pallet wood bird house
This took around an hour to make with my 10 year old son doing a lot of the work.
It was quite simple and a good project to get him used to using a hand saw and other tools.
As it's made from old pallet timber it didn't matter about any small mistakes.
He cut the front short from the roof a small amount for ventilation.

Mahogany bird design door wedge
I was given some mahogany a while back!
After seeing lots of different bird designs I thought I'd make a door wedge, or door stopper.
I drew the bird free hand on card until I was happy then tagged it to the mahogany.
I cut it out with a jigsaw, then hand sanded it lightly.
Just coat of Danish oil, then another, very light sand and buff and it was done.
